Permanent employment contract template in Arabic (Algeria)

This template is the Arabic version of the permanent employment contract (CDI) published in French on this site: job, place of work, trial period, hours, pay, leave, CNAS registration, confidentiality and termination, under Law No. 90-11 of 21 April 1990. Use it when the employee or the employer prefers a contract in Arabic. Articles are numbered as in the French version.

When to choose the Arabic version

  • The employee reads Arabic more easily and must understand every clause before signing.
  • Your company writes its staff documents in Arabic and you want a consistent contract.
  • You want to give the employee a contract in the language of the company's collective agreement or internal rules, if they are in Arabic.

Detailed advice (clauses to get right, mistakes, steps after signing) is on the French template page. Both versions have the same content and numbering: article 5 on the trial period is article 5 in both languages.

Frequently asked questions

Must the employment contract be in Arabic?

This template exists in Arabic and French so that employer and employee sign a text they both understand. If you are unsure which language to use in your sector, ask the labour inspectorate or a lawyer.

Does the Arabic version have the same content as the French one?

Yes: the same 16 articles, in the same order, with the same fields to complete. You can fill in one and check against the other.

Can a contract be signed in both languages?

If you hand over two versions, state in each which one prevails in case of discrepancy, and check that they match once the fields are completed.

When should I use a fixed-term contract instead?

Only in the five cases in article 12 of Law No. 90-11 (non-renewable works or service contract, replacement, periodic discontinuous work, extra workload or season, work temporary by nature). Otherwise it is a CDI.

What should I do after signing?

Give the employee an original, register them with the CNAS from the hiring date, and issue a payslip every month. If this is your first employee, first register the company as an employer.
