Amending the trade register: head office, manager, activity, name

As soon as an entry on your extract changes (head office, manager, activity, name, capital), you must have the trade register amended at the CNRC (National Trade Register Centre) office. For a company, the file rests on the notarial deed amending the articles and on the notice published in the BOAL. Amendment fees follow the CNRC schedule, from about 4,000 DA for a company with no capital increase.

What this form is for

The trade register must always reflect the business's real situation. The 2015 decree provides for three types of entry: registration, amendment and removal. An amendment adds, corrects or deletes a recorded entry, while respecting the single-register rule and the official list of activities.

The CNRC then issues an updated extract. That is what banks, tax offices, social security funds and clients ask for: an outdated extract can block a contract, a payment or an account opening.

  • Any business whose extract contains an error to correct.

One application can cover several changes decided together (head office and activity, for example): tick each type of amendment and attach the documents for each.

Filling it in, step by step

  1. 1

    Identify what changes

Head office, manager, activity, name, capital, partners: list every entry on the extract that will no longer be accurate.

  2. 2

    Prepare the supporting document

New lease or domiciliation contract, name certificate, licence, new manager's ID, as the case may be.

  3. 3

Have the change decided and recorded

For a company: partners' decision, then a notarial deed amending the articles.

  4. 4

    Publish in the BOAL

The notary prepares the notice of amended entries. Keep a copy.

  5. 5

    Fill in the amendment form

Enter the register number, the type of each change, the old and the new entry.

  6. 6

    Pay and file

Pay the amendment fee, then file at the CNRC office.

  7. 7

Collect the new extract and inform others

Check the updated extract, declare beneficial owners if needed, then inform tax office, bank and social security funds.

Where to file it

The file goes to the local CNRC office that holds your register. If you move the head office to another wilaya, the competent office changes: ask the office for the exact process before signing the deed at the notary.

Deadlines

The law gives you one month at most from the change to start amending the extract (article 4 bis of Law No. 04-08, added by Law No. 26-12 of 8 June 2026). Start as soon as the change is decided: until the extract is updated, the register still shows the old entry: the former manager stays listed as representative, the old address stays the official head office.

For a company, plan three stages: the notary appointment for the amending deed, publication in the BOAL, then filing with the CNRC and processing by the office.

Common mistakes

  • Moving premises without amending the register: the official head office stays at the old address.
  • Signing a new lease in the manager's name instead of the company's.
  • Appointing a new manager by simple letter, without a decision or amending deed.
  • Adding a regulated activity without a licence.
  • Skipping BOAL publication: a company's file is incomplete without it.
  • Missing the one-month deadline: the fine ranges from 10,000 to 500,000 DA for a natural person and from 300,000 to 700,000 DA for a company.
  • Forgetting the new beneficial owner declaration after a share transfer.
  • Not replacing the company stamp or informing the bank after a change of name or address.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a trade register amendment cost?

Under the CNRC's published schedule, about 2,592 DA for a natural person and from about 4,032 DA for a company with no capital increase, plus 240 DA per activity code added. For a company, the notarial deed and BOAL notice come on top.

Do I need a notary to change manager?

For a company, in practice yes: the partners' decision is recorded by notarial deed when the articles must change, then published in the BOAL. A template for the manager appointment minutes helps prepare the decision.

Can the head office move to another wilaya?

Yes. The competent office then changes. Ask the office before the notarial deed for the exact process and the documents required on both sides.

Does my NIF change after a head office move?

The NIF identifies the business with the tax administration. After a move, inform the tax office: the office managing your file may change with the new address.

Must beneficial owners be declared again?

Yes, if the change affects the people who own or control the company. The declaration is due to the CNRC within one month of the change.

What is the risk of not recording a change?

A fine of 10,000 to 500,000 DA for a sole trader, or 300,000 to 700,000 DA for a company, if the amendment is not started within one month of the change. If you still have not regularised 3 months after formal notice, the wali closes the premises, and the court may then strike the business off the trade register (articles 4 bis and 37 of Law No. 04-08, as worded by Law No. 26-12 of 2026). Your extract also stops matching reality, while banks, tax offices and clients rely on it.

What is the deadline to amend the trade register?

One month at most from the change, to start the procedure (article 4 bis of Law No. 04-08, added in 2026). For a company, book the notary as soon as the partners decide: the amending deed and the BOAL notice come before filing with the CNRC.

Can domiciliation be used for a head office move?

Yes, for a company. The notarised domiciliation contract serves as proof of the new head office. At Neuron Cowork in Dely Brahim, it costs 6,000 DA per month and is ready within 3 days at most.

Can you fill in the amendment form?

No. Neuron only fills in business setup forms and does not do bookkeeping or routine returns: this guide is free and all you need to do it yourself. If the change is a move of head office, domiciliation in Dely Brahim costs 6,000 DA a month, with a notarised contract ready in 3 days at most.
