What the electronic commerce law requires
- You sell online: you need a trade register entry, just like a traditional business.
- Your site shows your business identity, including a physical address. This is often where domiciliation helps: you do not display your home.
- Registered online sellers are listed in a national file of e-suppliers kept by the CNRC (National Trade Register Centre).
- The law bans selling certain products online, for example gambling, alcohol and tobacco, or pharmaceutical products.
The registered office of an e-commerce company
If you sell online through a company (EURL, SARL), it must prove an office to be registered. The articles set the office address, and the CNRC asks for a title deed or a notarised lease in the company's name. A notarised domiciliation contract is one of the accepted proofs.
To get started, a first-time investor company with no office may also elect domicile with a lawyer, a notary, a chartered accountant, a statutory auditor or at its legal representative's residence, for two years at most, renewable once (article 21 of Law 04-08, as worded by Law 13-06). Bear in mind that this is then the address shown on your site.
When domiciliation is enough, when you need premises
| Online sales model | Domiciliation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Online services (training, consulting, design, development) | Generally yes | No physical product to store |
| Digital content and software | Generally yes | Delivered by download or online access |
| Goods shipped directly by the supplier | Case by case | No stock with you, but a trade activity code to check |
| Goods sold from your own stock | Storage premises needed | Parcels must be stored and packed somewhere |
| Online sales with a pick-up point or showroom | Premises required | Customers come to collect or see products |
| Goods imported for online resale | Case by case | Import and storage rules also apply |
What domiciliation brings to an online shop
- A business address to show on the site, the terms of sale and invoices, instead of your home.
- Your company's registered office, proven by a notarised contract accepted by the CNRC.
- Receipt of official mail: at Neuron, it is received and you are notified when it arrives.
- A place to meet a supplier or partner: the meeting room costs 5,000 DA a day.

Domiciling your e-commerce business, step by step
- 1
Define the sales model
Services, digital content, goods with or without stock, pick-up point: this decides whether premises are needed.
- 2
Choose how you will trade
A company (EURL, SARL) or an individual registered in the trade register. The auto-entrepreneur status is only possible if your activity is on its list.
- 3
Have the activity checked
Send your activity code to Neuron on WhatsApp: we confirm free of charge whether domiciliation is possible before anything is signed.
- 4
Sign the domiciliation contract
The manager's ID and birth certificate are enough. The notarised contract is ready within 3 days.
- 5
Register and bring the site into line
After CNRC registration, show your trade register and tax identification numbers and your domiciliation address on your site.
