Domiciliation for auto-entrepreneurs: useful, required or not?

An auto-entrepreneur (Algeria's simplified self-employed status) does not need a domiciliation contract to exist: you register in the national auto-entrepreneur register with ANAE (National Auto-Entrepreneur Agency), not in the trade register where companies must prove their office with a notarial deed. Domiciliation becomes useful when you want to keep your home address separate from your business address, receive mail somewhere other than home, or prepare to move to a company. At Neuron Cowork in Dely Brahim it costs 6,000 DA a month.

Why domiciliation is not required

The auto-entrepreneur status, created by Law 22-23 of 18 December 2022, has its own register, kept by the National Auto-Entrepreneur Agency (ANAE). Registration is done online on the agency's platform and leads to an auto-entrepreneur card.

That is the big difference with a SARL or an EURL. A company registers with the CNRC (National Trade Register Centre), which requires a title deed or a notarised contract in the company's name to prove the office. An auto-entrepreneur does not go through that desk: you state an address when you register, and most activities open to the status (services, digital, consulting) are carried out without commercial premises.

The law itself provides for both options. Its article 7 lets the auto-entrepreneur domicile the activity at home or in shared workspaces. This is the legal basis for an address in a coworking space such as Neuron Cowork.

When a domiciliation address helps

  • You do not want your home address on your quotes, invoices and contracts.
  • Your clients are companies that expect a business address on your documents.
  • You move often, or live with your parents, and want a stable address for your activity.
  • You want your business mail delivered somewhere other than home. At Neuron, it is received and you are notified when it arrives.
  • You are preparing to switch to an EURL or a SARL and want to work from the future office address already.

What domiciliation does not do

  • It does not register you with ANAE: registration is still your own step, on the agency's platform.
  • It does not open up an activity that is not on the status's list.
  • It does not replace premises if your activity involves receiving the public, storing goods or manufacturing.
  • It is not an office. To work on site, Neuron rents private offices at 15,000 DA a month unfurnished and 20,000 DA furnished.

For your ANAE registration

The list is set by the agency and can be found on its platform. At the very least, prepare your ID and a description of your activity. The page on the auto-entrepreneur card covers the process in detail.

Getting a domiciliation address as an auto-entrepreneur, step by step

  1. 1

Check that your activity is open to the status

Look at the list of auto-entrepreneur activities. If yours is not on it, registering as an individual trader or setting up a company are the alternatives.

  2. 2

    Decide which address to declare

Your home is often enough. A domiciliation address helps if you want a separate business address.

  3. 3

    Sign the domiciliation contract

Send Neuron your ID and birth certificate on WhatsApp. The notarised contract, in your name, is ready within 3 days.

  4. 4

    Declare the address to ANAE

Enter the chosen address when you register, or update it if you are already registered, with the proof the platform asks for.

  5. 5

Use the address on your documents

Quotes, invoices, contracts and business cards now carry your business address.

The cost, and when to move to a company

At Neuron Cowork: 6,000 DA a month, that is 72,000 DA for a year. Once your turnover exceeds the status ceiling, or if you want partners, you will move to an EURL or a SARL. The company will then have to prove its own office to the CNRC with a notarised contract in its name: the page on domiciling an EURL explains what comes next.

Frequently asked questions

Does an auto-entrepreneur need a domiciliation address?

No. You register in the national auto-entrepreneur register with ANAE, not in the trade register. You declare an address, which can be your home. Domiciliation is a practical choice.

Can I declare a domiciliation address to ANAE?

Yes. Article 7 of Law 22-23 allows the auto-entrepreneur to domicile the activity in a shared workspace. You declare the address of your choice when you register or update your details. Check on the ANAE platform which proof is requested on that day; Neuron's notarised contract is in your name and proves the address.

Whose name is the contract in?

Yours, since an auto-entrepreneur works in their own name. Neuron asks for your ID and birth certificate.

Can I receive clients with a domiciliation address?

Not in an office of your own. For a meeting, Neuron's meeting room costs 5,000 DA a day. To work on site every day, you need to rent an office.

Can I keep the same address if I set up an EURL?

Yes, if the company's activity can be domiciled. But the company must sign its own notarised domiciliation contract, in its name, because the CNRC requires it for the office.

Can Neuron help me get the card?

Yes, in two ways. You can register with ANAE yourself, for free, with our auto-entrepreneur card guide: Neuron does not fill in this application. If you want us to handle the whole file, full support costs 50,000 DA, or 40,000 DA if you are domiciled at Neuron (official fees excluded).
