Self-entrepreneur card: registering with ANAE's national register

You get the self-entrepreneur (auto-entrepreneur) card by registering in the national register of self-entrepreneurs, kept by ANAE, Algeria's National Agency for Self-Entrepreneurs, on its online platform. The status is for an individual working alone in an activity on the official list, with yearly turnover of no more than 5,000,000 DA. A self-entrepreneur pays a tax of 0.5% of turnover (at least 10,000 DA) and registers with CASNOS, the social security fund for non-salaried workers.

What this form is for

Registering in the national register gives you self-entrepreneur status, shown by the card. For the activities concerned, it takes the place of registering in the trade register: you work in your own name, with lighter procedures and simple taxation.

The status suits a small one-person activity: services, digital trades, consulting, provided the activity is on the official list. Above the turnover cap, or to work with partners, you need another legal form.

Who must file it

You can register if you meet all of these conditions:

  • you are an individual, working alone and in your own name;
  • your activity is on the official list of activities open to self-entrepreneurs;
  • your yearly turnover does not exceed 5,000,000 DA.

If you expect higher turnover, are several people or your activity is not on the list, compare with an individual business in the trade register or a company.

Planned start date

Starting on 01/12/2026, CASNOS registration must follow within 10 days. For turnover of 1,200,000 DA, 0.5% gives 6,000 DA: the 10,000 DA minimum applies.

Filling it in, step by step

  1. 1

Check that your activity is eligible

Look for it in the platform's official list. If it is not there, the status is not for you: look at an individual business or a company.

  2. 2

    Estimate your turnover

The status stops at 5,000,000 DA a year. Also work out the tax: 0.5% of turnover, at least 10,000 DA.

  3. 3

    Choose your business address

Home or a business address. A domiciliation helps if you meet clients or receive mail somewhere other than home.

  4. 4

Create your account on the platform

With an email address and phone number you actually use.

  5. 5

    Enter your identity and activity

Surname and first name as on the identity card, NIN, activity chosen from the list, business address. Attach the documents asked for.

  6. 6

    Send and follow the application

Check before confirming, then follow the status of the application from your account and collect your card as instructed.

  7. 7

    Handle what comes next

Register with CASNOS within 10 days of starting the activity and write down your tax deadlines.

Where to file it

On the ANAE platform

Registration is done online, on the platform of the National Agency for Self-Entrepreneurs. You create an account, enter your identity, choose your activity from the official list and give your business address. You then follow your application from your account.

A business address

If you do not want to work from your home address, a domiciliation gives you a business address. At Neuron, in Dely Brahim, it costs 6,000 DA a month, with a notarised contract of 1 year or 2 years. Check on the platform that the address you choose suits your activity.

Deadlines

Registration must come before you start the activity: it is what allows you to work and invoice under the status.

Once registered, other deadlines apply. CASNOS registration is due within 10 days of starting the activity. Your turnover returns and tax payments follow the calendar set by the tax administration.

Common mistakes

  • Registering with an activity that is not on the official list, or rewording its title.
  • Choosing the status when expected turnover is above 5,000,000 DA.
  • Forgetting CASNOS registration, which remains compulsory.
  • Thinking no tax is due below a certain turnover: the 10,000 DA minimum applies.
  • Giving an email address or phone number you do not check.
  • Wanting to work with partners under this status: it is individual.

Frequently asked questions

Who can become a self-entrepreneur?

An individual working alone in an activity on the official list, with yearly turnover of no more than 5,000,000 DA.

How much tax does a self-entrepreneur pay?

0.5% of turnover, with a minimum of 10,000 DA a year. For 3,000,000 DA of turnover, that is 15,000 DA. Our IFU calculator works it out.

Do I have to register with CASNOS?

Yes. Self-entrepreneurs come under CASNOS and must register within 10 days of starting the activity. Ask the office for the contribution amount that applies to your status.

What happens if I go over 5,000,000 DA?

The self-entrepreneur status no longer fits your activity. You then need to move to another form, such as an individual business in the trade register or a company. Plan the change before you reach the cap.

Can I use a domiciliation address?

If you do not want to work from home, a domiciliation gives you a business address. At Neuron it costs 6,000 DA a month. Check on the platform that the address suits your activity.

Self-entrepreneur or individual business in the trade register?

The self-entrepreneur has simpler procedures and taxation, but is limited in activities and turnover. Our comparison sets out both options.

Can Neuron do my registration?

No, Neuron does not fill in the ANAE registration: this guide is enough to do it yourself from your account. Full setup support costs 50,000 DA for a sole trader (40,000 DA with a Neuron registered address), official fees excluded.
