Tax roll extract (extrait de rôle): getting a statement of your tax position
The tax roll extract (extrait de rôle) is the statement of your tax position kept by the tax collection office: the taxes assessed in your name, what you have paid and what is still owed. You request it from the tax collector (receveur) of the office that manages your file, who draws it up from their own records. The DGI (Directorate General of Taxes) has also opened an online request on its Jibaya'tic portal.

What this form is for
The "roll" (rôle) is the list of taxes the administration sends for collection in each taxpayer's name. The extract shows your line: the taxes and duties assessed, the payments recorded by the collection office and the balance. It is a snapshot, on a given date, of what you owe the Treasury.
It does not prove that your business exists: that is the job of the certificate of existence (C n°20). Nor does it replace your returns. It answers one question only: are you up to date with your payments?
When you will be asked for it
- Bids for public contracts or tenders: the buyer checks that the business has no tax debt, or that it is paying it off on a schedule.
- Applications for a bank loan, leasing or a bank guarantee.
- Sale of a business, entry of a new partner, due diligence before a takeover: the buyer wants to know the tax liabilities.
- Checking your own position before any step: a forgotten balance often shows up here.
| Document | What it proves | Issued by |
|---|---|---|

| Certificate of existence C n°20 | Your tax file is open, with its article number | Managing office (inspection, CDI, CPI, DGE) |

Who must file it
Any taxpayer can request their tax roll extract: company, trader, professional, auto-entrepreneur. The document is personal: it is only issued to the taxpayer concerned or to someone they authorise.
- Company: the manager (gérant) or legal representative, with the company stamp.
- Individual: the taxpayer in person, with an identity document.
- Representative (accountant, employee, firm): with a power of attorney signed by the taxpayer or the manager.

Filling it in, step by step
- 1
Bring your returns up to date
Check that your G n°50 returns (real regime) or your IFU returns have been filed and paid. A forgotten return will turn into a balance owed on the extract.
- 2
Gather your references
NIF, tax article number, exact company name and registered office address, as they appear on your tax documents.
- 3
Choose the channel
Online on Jibaya'tic if the service is open for your office; otherwise at the counter of the collection office of your managing tax office.
- 4
Write and sign the request
A letter to the collector, signed by the taxpayer or the manager, with the stamp for a company. Add a power of attorney if someone else files it.
- 5
File and follow up
At the counter, have a copy stamped. Online, follow the status in the "Documents fiscaux" tab.
- 6
Check the extract you receive
Check the company name, NIF, assessments and payments. If a payment is missing, show the receipt at the collection office to have it corrected.
Where to file it
At the counter, you request the extract from the collection office of the tax office that manages your file: your tax centre (CDI), your local tax centre (CPI) or your tax inspection, or the collection office of the Large Enterprises Directorate (DGE) if you come under it.
| Your situation | Where to ask |
|---|---|
| Company or individual under the real regime | Collection office of the tax centre (CDI) or the competent inspection |
| Business under the IFU, including auto-entrepreneurs | Collection office of the local tax centre (CPI) or the competent inspection |
| Large company | DGE collection office |
| Taxpayer registered on Jibaya'tic | Online, "Documents fiscaux" tab, if the service is open for your office |
Requesting online
The DGI has announced an online request service for the tax roll extract and the C20 certificate on Jibaya'tic, its filing and payment portal. You make the request from your account and follow its status in the "Documents fiscaux" tab. The press first presented it as reserved for DGE companies: check in your account whether it is open for your tax centre.
In September 2026, the national press reported that five tax documents, including the tax roll extract, had been added to the public portal Dzair Digital Services. We found no official DGI page describing this procedure on the verification date: if you use it, make sure the organisation you are sending it to accepts a document obtained online.

Deadlines
No legal deadline obliges you to request a tax roll extract: you ask for one when an organisation requires it. The deadline that matters is your own file's (closing date for bids, bank appointment).
The extract describes your position on the date it is drawn up. The organisation asking for it therefore decides how recent it must be. We found no general validity period on the DGI's pages: read the tender documents or ask the bank.
Common mistakes
- Mixing up the tax roll extract with the certificate of existence C n°20 or the NIF certificate.
- Asking the collection office near your home instead of the one that manages your file.
- Waiting until the day before a tender deadline to request it.
- Discovering a balance owed with no time left to pay it or get a payment schedule.
- Sending an employee to the counter without a power of attorney.
- Submitting an old extract when the buyer sets a maximum age.
- Not keeping payment receipts, which are what get an unrecorded payment corrected.
Frequently asked questions
What is a tax roll extract, in one sentence?
It is a statement, drawn up by the tax collection office, of the taxes assessed in your name, your payments and the balance owed on a given date.
Can I request the extract online?
Yes, the DGI has opened an online request for the tax roll extract and the C20 certificate on Jibaya'tic, tracked in the "Documents fiscaux" tab. It was first announced for DGE companies: check in your account whether it is open for your tax centre. Otherwise, apply at the collection office counter.
Which documents do I need to provide?
According to the DGI, the extract is based on the position held by the collector. In practice, you hand in a request with your tax references and an identity document, plus a power of attorney if someone else goes for you.
How long is a tax roll extract valid?
We found no general validity period set by the DGI. The extract describes your position on its date: the public buyer, bank or administration asking for it decides how recent it must be.
My extract shows a debt: what should I do?
First check that it is correct (a payment may not have been recorded: show the receipt). If it is correct, pay it or ask the collector for a payment schedule, then request a new extract.
How is it different from a tax clearance?
The extract describes your payment position. A "quitus" is a document certifying that you are in order for a specific transaction. Our guide to the tax clearance explains when it is required.
Can an auto-entrepreneur get a tax roll extract?
Yes. Like any taxpayer, they request it from the collection office of the tax office that manages their file, usually the local tax centre (CPI).
Can Neuron make the request for me?
No. Neuron only fills in business setup forms and does not do bookkeeping or routine returns: this guide is free and all you need to do it yourself.
